it starts with a bite

I read food blogs daily.  I pitch food news for a living. I love to talk about food. I love to cook. I love to eat. What I don't love is the stress of making the 'right' food choices. Organic. Sustainable. Responsibly sourced. Local. Fresh. Unprocessed, unfiltered, unrefined.  Absolutely - I'm on board.  But let's be realistic.  I'm a working mom of three on a budget with very little free time.  I've got to clip coupons, scour sale papers and plan meals that are quick and convenient.  Sometimes it's just not possible for me to make all the right choices.  It's all about balance.  I join a CSA in the summer, use organic milk and don't buy anything with hormones added.  But I also love cream cheese, potato chips and let my kids eat candy.  I make whole grains with fresh vegetables and beg my kids to eat.  I also give in and make powdered mac & cheese.  I do what I can, when I can. 

I view this blog as a sense of accountability.  It's an organic process.  I'll share my successes and failures, some good recipes, details about food-related local events, and hopefully build a community of busy people who want to eat well, but sometimes don't.  Welcome!
